The School District of Howards Grove has a part-time position open in the food service department. This is a 5 hour position (8:30 am - 1:30 pm) working Monday-Friday when school is in session. The Food Service Worker/Cashier works in the food service operation and may be assigned to work anywhere in the school district where food is prepared and served. As a cashier, you must accurately operate the POS and complete transactions. This position also provides support to the retail operation, including setup, takedown, maintaining supplies and products, cleanup and food handling. The general responsibilities of this position include those listed but Management may identify other responsibilities of this position as necessary. These responsibilities may differ among schools, depending on the necessities of each school. Acceptable background check required.
Qualifications:
1. Must be able to communicate and respond to district staff and student needs in a timely and friendly manner.
2. Must wear hair restraints and safe shoes; no jewelry allowed. Must adhere to all HAACP practices in all activities at all times. Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 40 pounds, and stand for the majority of the shift. Must also be able to frequently bend, stretch, reach across serving counter, push and pull food carts. Help with food preparations, kitchen preparations, clean, sanitize and/or wash lunchrooms tables, equipment, surfaces, a variety of pots, pans and other equipment.
3. Ability to work comfortably in a fast paced environment.
4. Ability to effectively and safely operate, with instruction and proper training, the district Skyward Software food service point of sale computer system and Employee Access.
5. Help at other schools if needed.
6. Complete training to comply with required Professional Standards.
7. Perform all job tasks at a proficient level.
8. Clean driving record. Acceptable background check required.
9. High School graduate or equivalent.
10. Support the district philosophy and value of providing nutritious daily meals to our students and staff.
