Billing Coordinator

Salary: $65,000–$90,000 DOE
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced Billing Coordinator to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of legal billing experience within a law firm or professional services environment and be comfortable managing a high-volume billing desk while partnering closely with attorneys to ensure accurate and timely billing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare, print, and distribute prebills according to firm standards.
- Review and revise prebills, including complex billing adjustments, write-offs, transfers, and edits.
- Prepare and distribute client invoices in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with the eBilling team to resolve invoice submission issues and rejections.
- Respond promptly to attorney and client billing inquiries while providing exceptional customer service.
- Identify, research, and resolve billing discrepancies and inaccuracies.
- Participate in regular meetings with assigned billing attorneys.
- Manage a high-volume billing workload while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Utilize Elite 3E, Proforma Tracker, InTapp Time, Microsoft Word, and Excel to complete daily responsibilities.
- Assist with special projects and recommend improvements to billing processes and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of legal billing experience is required.
- Experience within a law firm is strongly preferred.
- Billing experience in a large accounting or other professional services firm will also be considered.
- Ability to manage a high-volume billing desk supporting multiple attorneys.
- Strong understanding of the legal billing lifecycle, including prebills, invoice revisions, adjustments, and eBilling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High standards of professionalism, integrity, and customer service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with Elite Enterprise/3E, Proforma Tracker, InTapp Time, and BillBlast is a plus.
- Associate degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
