The Gerling Institute is seeking an X-ray Technician who is able to independently perform all outpatient radiologic and fluoroscopy exams and procedures with high quality results

Requirements of the Radiology Technologist:
- Associate degree
- ARRT Certification
- Must be experienced in C-Arm and Xray.
Responsibilities of the Radiology Technologist:
- Maintains the inventory of supplies, equipment, and/or reagents.
- Recognizes problems/malfunctions of equipment and may assist in making minor adjustments.
- Prepare each patient for all x-ray exams by providing clear and concise instructions, position patients with care for each radiographic view, move the x-ray machine in appropriate position, and adjust technique based on the body part of interest and body habitus.
- Perform high-quality x-rays on all patient types and age groups, under the guidance of a physician and according to pre-established standards and protocols.
- Greets registered patients at time of visit and triages patients through the patient flow process.
- Checks schedules and accompanies patients to exam/procedure room.
- Assists patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing and preparing for exam.
- Reviews and verifies patient identity, history and requisition for exam to be performed.
- Inputs patient history information at time of exam/test into the practice management system.
- Maintain x-ray equipment according to manufacturer and company policies to ensure optimal operation, such as performing quality checks and keeping records in appropriate system(s) (e.g., logbooks).
- Scans relevant medical documentation related to patient's case.
- Ensures patient safety is maintained at all times.
- Responsible for maintaining a sterile environment.
- Performs fluoroscope procedures of patient as requested by clinical requisition.
- Explains procedure to be performed to patient prior to procedure and answers any questions throughout procedure.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the hospital and radiology information systems as they relate to radiology. Correctly chooses appropriate patient information from HIS/RIS system in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Modifies testing parameters to ensure accurate imaging.
- Adjusts fluoroscope equipment to proper setting for each procedure
- Completes necessary written documentation to provide information vital for accurate and timely patient care and billing requirements.
