Oak Grove Montessori School is looking for a warm, dependable person to join our afternoon Late Stay team working with children ages 6 weeks–6 years.
Regular Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00–6:00 PM
Starting Pay: $12.00/hour
After Required Training: $13.00/hour
Optional Additional Hours: Substitute opportunities available between 7:30 AM–2:00 PM
Weekends: Always free!
This is a great opportunity for someone looking for predictable afternoon hours in a school environment. Your regular schedule stays consistent from week to week, and if you'd like to work more, there are opportunities to pick up daytime substitute hours based on your availability and our school's needs.
No Montessori experience is required. We’re happy to train the right person!
What You'll Do
Your afternoon begins in one of our classrooms, helping teachers and children transition from nap into the rest of their day. Depending on the age group, you may:
- Help children wake from nap and transition into afternoon activities
- Assist with snack, diapering, and toileting
- Engage with children during individual activities and play
- Help reset and prepare the classroom for the following day
- Spend time outdoors with the children
- Assist with simple art and practical life activities
At 3:15 PM, you'll transition to our Late Stay program and work alongside another staff member to care for children through the end of the school day.

Pay & Training
You'll start at $12.00/hour and receive a raise to $13.00/hour once your required training is completed.
State-required training must be completed within your first 30 days and includes online Health & Safety training, virtual Fire Safety training, and in-person CPR/First Aid.
Want More Hours?
Your regular Late Stay position provides a consistent 20-hour workweek from 2:00–6:00 PM.
If you'd like additional hours, you can also be available to substitute in our classrooms between 7:30 AM and 2:00 PM when opportunities arise. Substitute hours are completely optional and depend on your availability and the school's needs.
This can be a great fit for someone who wants a reliable part-time schedule while still having the option to pick up extra hours.
