Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Functional Tester/Manual Tester to join our dynamic quality assurance team. In this role, you will be responsible for thoroughly testing software applications, ensuring they meet specified requirements, and delivering exceptional quality. Your expertise will help identify bugs, verify functionalities, and ensure seamless user experiences across various platforms. Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive test cases and test plans based on detailed business requirements and technical specifications.
- Execute manual testing procedures across multiple environments, including web, mobile (Android and iOS), and desktop applications.
- Perform functional testing to verify that features operate according to specifications, including UI validation and user acceptance testing.
- Conduct system, integration, regression, performance, and load testing using industry-standard tools such as LoadRunner and HP ALM.
- Identify, document, and track defects using defect tracking tools like Jira or HP ALM; collaborate with developers to facilitate timely resolution.
- Validate APIs and web services through RESTful API testing using tools like Postman or SOAP UI; ensure data integrity with SQL-based database verification (MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server).
- Support continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines by automating test cases with scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript where applicable.
Skills
- Proven experience in manual testing methodologies within an Agile or Waterfall SDLC environment.
- Strong knowledge of software testing tools including TestNG, JUnit, Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, HP ALM, and Jenkins for automation frameworks.
- Proficiency in testing mobile applications on Android and iOS platforms; familiarity with mobile testing tools like Appium is a plus.
- Experience with performance testing using LoadRunner or similar tools; understanding of system performance metrics is essential.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis to identify underlying issues affecting application stability or performance.
- Solid understanding of APIs (RESTful & SOAP), XML/JSON data formats, and web services testing.
- Working knowledge of databases such as MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, or SQL Server; capable of writing complex SQL queries for data validation.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git or SVN; experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret business requirements into effective test cases; excellent debugging and troubleshooting abilities.
- Effective communication skills for documenting test results clearly and collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional teams in an Agile setting.
