Job Summary: The Behavioral Health Technician is responsible for working closely with patients and providing the necessary support.
Responsibilities and Duties:

Maintains an orderly and therapeutic environment for patients.
- Monitors patients and redirects patients when necessary.

Places patients on a therapeutic agreement when necessary.

Shares observations regarding patient behaviors and other relevant information.
- Responds to unusual or emergency situations and notifies the appropriate staff.
- Performs search of patients and their belongings according to protocol.
- Assists with the completion of required paperwork upon patient admission.
- Orients newly admitted patients to Livengrin policies, expectations and daily schedule.

Performs patient rounds and roll call and documents accordingly.

Performs room searches as required.

Conducts educational lectures to patient population in a professional and competent manner.

Monitors patient meetings and lectures.

Documents necessary information in the electronic medical record (EMR).

Supports the clinical and nursing staff as needed.

Completes inventory of various items and restocks forms and handouts related to patient orientation and other programs.

Monitors and records refrigerator temperature in patient residences as required.

Ensures accuracy of departmental logs and files accordingly.

Handles patient admission in conjunction with nursing staff during overnight hours.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
-
High School Diploma or its equivalent.
-
Knowledge of substance use disorder through training, education or personal experience.
-
CRS or CPS certification through PCB preferred.
