Overview
The King’s Kids YDC is seeking a reliable and nurturing Preschool Teacher Assistant to support the Lead Teacher in a structured, faith-based classroom environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and is committed to supporting their learning, care, and daily routines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher with implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities
- Provide daily care for children, including supervision, meal prep, serving breakfast/lunch/snacks, and maintaining a clean, organized classroom
- Support classroom routines, transitions, and positive behavior management
- Engage with children through hands-on activities, play, and learning experiences
- Help monitor children’s progress and developmental needs
- Maintain communication and daily reports through Brightwheel
- Ensure compliance with Virginia licensing standards (VQB5/VQR) and center policies
- Work collaboratively with staff, families, and community partners
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associated Degree
- CDA (Child Development Associate) or child-related coursework preferred
- 1–3 years of childcare or preschool experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of child development and classroom support strategies
- Willingness to learn curriculum implementation and classroom management
- Experience with Brightwheel or similar systems is a plus
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a Christian, faith-based environment
Pay & Schedule
- $14–$16 per hour, based on qualifications
- Part-time position (up to 37 hours per week), Monday–Friday
