Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all tools are ready for use in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
- Take dental X-rays and 3D scans.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) system (Curve), ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment details.
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and managing patient management software to schedule appointments and follow-ups.
- Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and records with integrity.
- Support dental sterilization procedures and infection control practices to uphold the highest standards of healthcare infection prevention and control expertise.
- Assist with dental instrument processing, chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques, and managing dental equipment to optimize workflow.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
- Proficiency in dental assisting skills including dental terminology, dental x-ray techniques, oral surgery support, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
- Familiarity with EMR for efficient medical documentation and patient management.
- Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and dental sterilization procedures.
- Ability to accurately take vital signs and perform dental imaging with attention to safety standards.
- Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment operation including 3D scanners, and dental x-ray machines.
- Excellent communication skills to provide outstanding patient care while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
- Certification in radiography or X-ray certification preferred; additional certifications in expanded functions are advantageous.
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
