Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Auto Body Technician to join our reputable automotive repair team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in auto body repair, welding, fabrication, and vehicle restoration. This role involves performing structural repairs, cosmetic refinishing, and detailed vehicle work to restore vehicles to their original condition or better. Candidates with dealership experience, mechanical knowledge, and proficiency with various tools and equipment will thrive in this position. The Auto Body Technician plays a vital role in delivering high-quality repairs while maintaining safety and efficiency standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform automotive structural repairs including dent removal, sheet metal work, and frame straightening using welding repair techniques such as MIG welding and automotive welding equipment.
- Conduct auto body repairs involving auto painting, sanding, detailing, and automotive cosmetic repair to ensure a flawless finish.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools and fabrication techniques for precise repairs and modifications.
- Install automotive parts including auto glass, bumpers, panels, and other components with attention to detail.
- Execute auto restoration projects by applying fabrication repair techniques and automotive parts installation skills.
- Use welding and soldering skills for structural reinforcement and repair of vehicle frames or damaged areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs while providing excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as an automotive body technician or in a similar role within a dealership or independent shop.
- Proficiency with MIG welding, soldering, automotive welding equipment, and fabrication repair techniques.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and automotive structural repair.
- Skilled in auto body repair processes including auto painting, sanding tools, auto refinishing, and detailing.
- Experience with auto glass installation, auto estimating, heavy lifting, and the use of various hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to perform auto restoration projects with attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Knowledge of automotive parts installation and working with sheet metal for repairs or custom fabrication.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively about repair processes.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
