Responsibilities
- Manage daily shop operations, including scheduling, parts ordering, workflow coordination, and ensuring timely vehicle turnaround.
- Supervise and motivate a team of machinists and mechanics and support staff to maintain high productivity levels and quality standards.
- Oversee engine machine shop and service vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance services such as oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, tire services, shocks & struts, transmissions, air brake systems, and collision repairs.
- Ability to estimate job projects.
- Drive upselling opportunities by recommending additional services to enhance customer satisfaction and shop revenue.
- Maintain excellent client communication by explaining repair procedures clearly, providing updates on vehicle status, and ensuring customer concerns are addressed promptly.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards while managing cash handling procedures and maintaining accurate records of all transactions.
Skills
- Proven experience in automotive diagnostics, mechanical repair, and auto service management with a strong background in hot rod and speed shop environments.
- Proficiency in rough estimating job projects.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive systems including engines, transmissions, suspension components, brakes, oil changes, tire services, shocks & struts, air brake systems.
- Demonstrated ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining integrity and customer trust.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, manage workflow efficiently, and foster a positive work environment.
- Strong customer service skills with clear communication abilities to explain technical issues in an understandable manner.
