Plastic Surgery Associates, PC, a leader in the field of cosmetic surgery has provided state-of-the-art options to patients in the Midwest for over thirty years. This award-winning practice is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to work full-time for our Ambulatory Surgery Center to work in our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Operating Rooms.
The successful candidate must be committed to providing the highest quality of nursing care and customer service with the ultimate objective of ensuring delivery of efficient, effective, ethical, safe, quality and compassionate patient care. Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model using the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
This person will provide direct patient care, admit, recover and discharge patients from our PACU, and provide coverage as a circulating nurse in the operating room. Will be responsible to provide patient education for cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, triage and address nursing phone calls, ensure all required medical clearance and lab work has been completed prior to surgery. Current RN licensure in the State of Michigan required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Life Support (ACLS) is required.
A minimum of 1-year of PACU, and/or OR experience is preferred. Previous experience in the Intensive Care Unit is preferred. Previous operating room, surigal scrubbing and plastic surgery experience is desired. Bachelor’s in nursing is preferred. The position is responsible for compliance with laws, regulations, and PSA policies.
