Role Description The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of The Blacksmith Restaurant, ensuring excellent guest experiences and consistent service standards. This full-time, on-site role in Bend, OR is currently Wednesday-Sunday from roughly 1pm-9pm and includes supervising front-of-house and back-of-house teams, managing scheduling, and coordinating with kitchen leadership to maintain smooth service. The General Manager will monitor financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue targets, while maintaining inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships. Additional responsibilities include hiring, training, performance management, and fostering a respectful, inclusive workplace culture. The General Manager will also handle guest feedback, uphold health and safety compliance, and support marketing initiatives and special events to promote the restaurant.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in restaurant or hospitality management, including supervising teams and overseeing daily operations.
- Strong skills in budgeting, cost control, inventory management, and basic financial reporting.
- Ability to lead, coach, and motivate diverse staff, with a focus on team development and positive workplace culture.
- Excellent customer service, conflict resolution, and communication skills for interacting with guests, staff, and vendors.
- Knowledge of food safety, health regulations, and best practices in restaurant service and cleanliness.
- Comfort with using POS systems, basic office software, and operational tools to manage schedules and performance.
- Proven organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in upscale or full-service dining environments is preferred.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Relevant education or training in hospitality, business, or restaurant management is beneficial.
Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
