We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, certified Paralegal to support our General Liability team in our Philadelphia office. This role provides comprehensive litigation support to multiple attorneys and requires the ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and organize case files for several matters, including tracking deadlines, maintaining calendars, and ensuring all case activity is up to date
- Draft, finalize, and serve legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, subpoenas, and correspondence
- Prepare and file court documents, including e-filing in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and the District of Columbia (and corresponding federal courts)
- Track and document all discovery deadlines; assist with drafting, organizing, and managing discovery requests and responses
- Coordinate and manage subpoena requests, including ongoing communication with providers and analysis of records received
- Conduct legal and background research, including docket searches, social media investigations, and identifying subpoena entities
- Organize, review, and analyze incoming records, invoices, and case-related data
- Coordinate depositions, including scheduling, preparing exhibits, and compiling medical chronologies
- Assist with expert retention, including research, scheduling, document preparation, and follow-up on reports
- Prepare affidavits of service and facilitate distribution of documents to courts and opposing counsel
- Work closely with attorneys and the billing department, including accounts receivable support
- Accurately track and enter billable time using ProLaw and/or iManage in accordance with firm guidelines
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding records via phone, email, and mail
- Support multiple attorneys with daily workflow, calendar management, and reminders
- Prepare bi-weekly memoranda based on attorneys’ calendars for internal team meetings
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of legal experience, preferably in litigation or general liability
- Experience drafting, preparing, and serving legal documents
- Prior experience tracking and billing time in ProLaw and/or iManage preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and PDF tools
