Position Overview
The musician or vocalist is responsible for leading the congregation into meaningful, Christ-centered worship during Sunday services. This role combines spiritual leadership, musical direction, preparation, and teamwork to help create an environment where people can encounter God, grow in their faith, and participate fully in worship.
The ideal candidate is a committed follower of Jesus who has a heart for people, a passion for worship, and the ability to lead others with humility, excellence, and authenticity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead worship during weekly Sunday services with passion, authenticity, and a heart for serving the congregation.
- Select songs that are Christ-centered, congregationally accessible, and appropriate for the service.
- Schedule and communicate with worship team members in advance of services.
- Organize and lead rehearsals to ensure the team is spiritually and musically prepared.
- Work closely with the pastor and service leadership to plan and coordinate Sunday worship experiences.
- Maintain a growing personal relationship with Jesus and model a lifestyle of worship both on and off the platform.
- Participate in church services, meetings, and other ministry activities as appropriate.
Qualifications
- A genuine and growing relationship with Christ
- Experience leading congregational worship in a church setting is a plus, but not required.
- Strong vocal and/or instrumental musical ability.
- Ability to lead a worship team with confidence, humility, and encouragement.
- Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- A heart for serving people and helping others engage in worship.
- Ability to work collaboratively with pastors, staff, volunteers, and ministry leaders.
