Summary of Role:
The HELOC Lending Specialist I serves as a key point of contact for Members seeking home equity financing. This role is primarily responsible for originating Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) applications, educating Members on product options, and ensuring accurate and compliant completion of all required disclosures. The HELOC Lending Specialist I delivers a high level of Member service, demonstrates strong phone etiquette, and effectively manages time and production goals within a fast-paced, high-volume lending environment.

Knowledge and Skills:
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in consumer lending with an emphasis on HELOCs

Strong knowledge of consumer lending products, particularly HELOCs.
- Understanding of HELOC disclosures, documentation requirements, and application flow.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience originating consumer or home equity loans in a credit union or financial institution.
- Familiarity with high volume inbound lending or call center style environments.
Education:
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or a related field

Physical Requirements:
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 15 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situations. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer, tablet, telephone, copier, facsimile, printer, scanner, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
Work Environment:
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal noise.
