Duties
- Perform comprehensive repairs on vehicle engines, powertrains, electrical systems, and body components using hand tools, power tools, and specialized automotive diagnostic equipment
- Conduct detailed diagnostics utilizing automotive diagnostics software and schematics to identify issues accurately
- Repair or replace engine components.
- Execute collision repairs and paint jobs with precision, restoring vehicles.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics for complex electrical repairs and system troubleshooting.
- Handle heavy lifting safely during repairs or parts replacement while following manual handling protocols
- Maintain detailed service records, complete repair reports, and communicate effectively with customers regarding repair status and recommendations
Skills
- Proven experience with a strong understanding of automotive systems and repairs.
- Proficiency in interpreting automotive schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Skilled in using automotive diagnostic tools such as scan tools and electronic testing devices
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems including brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical wiring
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining manual handling best practices
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients.
