Make a difference this upcoming school year by supporting students with diverse needs in a contract, full-time Special Education teaching role serving a dedicated Learning for Life Program. Located in the heart of Frederick County and starting this August, you’ll work onsite with a manageable caseload of 15 students, helping them achieve academic and personal growth in a nurturing environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Special Education Teacher certification required
- Familiarity with middle school curriculum and learning support strategies
- Experience working with students in self-contained or specialized programs preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner effectively with staff and families
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches for individual learning styles
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction based on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) within a structured classroom
- Provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students in the Learning for Life Program
- Develop detailed lesson plans and modify curriculum as needed for student success
- Track student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and contribute to regular IEP meetings
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, therapists, aides, and school administrators
- Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom community
