Job Summary/Overall Objectives
The Laundry Aide provides and maintains an adequate linen supply to all areas of the hospital. Retrieves and transports soiled linen to designated linen service collection area. Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm Monday- Friday with rotating weekends.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintains accurate linen inventory levels in the Linen Room and in the departments serviced
- Receives clean linen
- Distributes clean linen to departments serviced
- Retrieves soiled linen following OSHA Blood borne Pathogen Standards
- Compiles, prints and delivers end of month linen report
- Maintains a clean, organized work area providing an efficient and safe work environment
- Must have the ability to generate a push/pull force of 13 to 57 pounds.
- Attends various education programs
- Proper phone etiquette
- Issues supplies/equipment to all areas of the hospital.
- Assists in stock replacement for the distribution area.
- Performs other duties as required. Some light housekeeping requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications/Experience
- High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education.
- Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.
- Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
License, Certification & Clearances
- Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
- Travel may be expected locally between System locations.
