Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students as an Occupational Therapist throughout a diverse school setting near Elgin, IL. This full-time, itinerant position covers multiple school sites, including elementary, middle, and high schools. Throughout the academic year, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and positively impact students from Pre-K up to age 22 in various educational environments.
Qualifications Desired:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Active Educator License from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
- Previous school-based OT experience is preferred
- Comfortable handling a varied caseload and adapting to different school environments
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
- Must complete fingerprinting as part of credentialing requirements
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy services to students with a range of abilities and needs
- Travel between assigned schools within the district, adhering to each campus’s start and end times
- Work closely with special education teams, teachers, and families to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Maintain thorough, compliant documentation for all services provided
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student assessments, goal-setting, and progress monitoring
- Support students’ development of fine/gross motor skills, functional independence, and participation in daily school activities
