Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Thrift Store Manager to lead our retail operations with enthusiasm and a customer-focused approach. Duties
- Lead and supervise the retail team, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management to ensure high standards of customer service and sales performance
- Manage daily store operations such as cash handling, POS (Point of Sale) system usage, and shift management
- Develop and implement marketing initiatives to attract new customers and retain existing ones while promoting store events and community outreach efforts
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, store policies, and health regulations to maintain a secure shopping environment
- Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate goals, provide training on customer service skills, product knowledge, and operational procedures
- Monitor sales metrics and operational budgets to meet financial targets while fostering a positive shopping experience for all customers
- Develop positive presence for MCPAWS in downtown McCall; develop personal contacts to promote the store, recruit volunteer, and secure donations of goods
- Implement annual business plans for volunteer recruitment and recognition, special events and promotions, and donation acquisitions
- Coordinate with MCPAWS Animal Shelter regarding cat adoptions and ensure the health and safety of animals in Thrift Store care.
- Manage store facility issues and work with contractors on general maintenance.
Requirements
- Proven management experience in retail or thrift store environments with supervising responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of retail math, merchandising, pricing strategies, and sales management techniques
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual abilities are highly desirable for diverse community engagement
- Demonstrated skills in employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, training & development
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and operational management tools
- Ability to lead a team effectively through motivation and clear communication while managing multiple priorities simultaneously
- Previous experience in grocery or retail sales environments is advantageous but not required; a passion for community service is essential
- Strong leadership qualities combined with excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings as needed for store coverage

Pay: $20.00 - $30.88 per hour
