Job Summary
The Housekeeping Houseperson plays a vital support role in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for guests and team members. This position assists Room Attendants and the Housekeeping team by handling heavy cleaning tasks, stocking supplies, and ensuring public areas and floors meet hotel cleanliness standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of all public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, elevators, and service areas
- Assist Room Attendants by:
- Delivering linens, towels, and supplies
- Removing trash and soiled linens from guest floors
- Stock housekeeping closets and carts throughout the shift
- Perform deep cleaning tasks such as:
- Carpet cleaning/spill cleanup
- Dusting high surfaces
- Polishing floors and fixtures
- Respond promptly to guest requests (extra towels, amenities, etc.)
- Ensure all housekeeping equipment is clean, organized, and in proper working condition
- Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to management
- Follow all hotel safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience preferred (not required)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness standards
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and equipment
Schedule & Availability
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts
- Morning and evening shifts may be required
