We are seeking a skilled and dependable Onsite Diesel Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and heavy-duty equipment at a designated facility. This role focuses on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work to ensure fleet reliability and minimize downtime.
- Monday – Friday
- 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Some overtime required based on workload and breakdowns
- $30 – $35 per hour depending on experience
- Overtime paid at time-and-a-half where applicable
- Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair on diesel engines and systems
- Complete preventative maintenance on fleet trucks and heavy equipment
- Repair and replace components including brakes, suspension, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Use diagnostic software and mechanical tools to identify issues
- Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
- Communicate with fleet managers regarding repairs and vehicle status
- Ensure tools, shop area, and equipment are maintained and organized
- Respond to urgent repair needs when required
- Previous experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment technician
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required
- CDL preferred but not required (depending on facility needs)
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to lift 50–100 lbs regularly
- Work in indoor shop and outdoor environments
- Standing, bending, kneeling, and working under vehicles for extended periods
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions when needed
