Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrician and Controls Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and control equipment across our facilities. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of industrial automation, electrical instrumentation, and control systems, contributing to the efficiency and safety of our production processes. Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, control panels, and instrumentation in accordance with electrical schematics and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to identify faults within complex industrial control systems.
- Maintain and calibrate sensors, vision inspection systems, and other automation equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Read electrical blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings accurately to guide installation and maintenance activities.
- Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and industrial automation equipment to support manufacturing operations.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment including pneumatic systems, hydraulic components, CNC machinery, and high-voltage electrical systems.
- Follow electrical safety procedures rigorously while working on low voltage and high voltage circuits to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Support field service activities by diagnosing issues on-site at customer facilities or within manufacturing plants.
- Utilize AutoCAD or similar software for designing or modifying electrical layouts when necessary.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve system reliability through continuous troubleshooting and process improvements.
Skills
- Extensive experience with industrial electrician practices including electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatic systems, sensors, and electrical instrumentation.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, P&IDs, electrical blueprints, and engineering drawings.
- Skilled in programming in engineering environments using PLCs (such as Calypso or other platforms) for automation control.
- Familiarity with industrial controls such as sensors, vision inspection systems, CNC machinery, and distributed control systems (DCS).
- Ability to operate precision measuring instruments like ohmmeters while adhering to electrical safety procedures.
- Mechanical knowledge related to piping systems and instrumentation calibration techniques.
- Experience with AutoCAD for designing or editing electrical layouts; knowledge of industrial automation software is a plus.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues efficiently in manufacturing or military settings.
- Strong customer service skills when supporting field service operations or client installations.
- Knowledge of high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems essential for maintaining plant safety standards.

Pay: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour
