Oaktown Roost is a locally owned boutique hotel in the heart of Downtown Oakland. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time Cleaner / Housekeeper to help us keep our guest rooms and common areas clean, comfortable, and welcoming.
Because we are a small boutique hotel, attention to detail is extremely important. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can work efficiently and independently, and understands that a clean, well-prepared room is a major part of creating a great guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare guest rooms after checkout, including making beds, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, and mopping
- Wash, dry, fold, and organize hotel laundry, including bed sheets, towels, and other linens
- Restock towels, toiletries, and other guest room supplies
- Clean and maintain hotel common areas, including hallways, lobby areas, stairways, and shared spaces
- Perform periodic deep-cleaning tasks as needed
- Identify and report maintenance issues, damage, or missing items
- Keep housekeeping supplies organized and notify management when inventory is running low
- Follow hotel cleaning standards and checklists to ensure rooms are consistently guest-ready
- Work efficiently to ensure rooms are ready for arriving guests by check-in time
- Communicate with the front desk regarding room status and any guest or maintenance concerns

- Comfortable performing physically active work, including standing, bending, lifting, and going up and down stairs
- Previous hotel, Airbnb, residential, or professional cleaning experience is preferred
- Must be available to work during daytime housekeeping hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
