Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, ensuring food safety and hygiene protocols are followed
- Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients with precision
- Support kitchen operations during busy service hours by efficiently managing multiple orders
- Follow food handling guidelines to ensure quality and safety in all food products
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of orders and smooth kitchen flow
- Contribute to menu planning discussions by providing feedback on dish preparation and presentation
Experience
- Previous experience in a food industry setting such as restaurants, catering, or dietary departments is highly valued
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques are essential
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience in meal preparation, cooking, and food service roles demonstrates readiness for this position
- Knowledge of dietary aide practices or dietary department experience is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
- Culinary experience that includes menu planning and food industry knowledge will set candidates apart
