Position Overview
Ivybrook Academy, a premier Montessori and Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool, is seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Curriculum to join our Houston leadership team.
The Director of Curriculum serves as the school's instructional and educational leader, responsible for ensuring excellence in curriculum implementation, educator development, classroom quality, and the overall student experience. This individual will work in close partnership with the Principal/Director of Administration to maintain a high-performing school environment where children thrive, educators grow, and families feel valued and supported.
The ideal candidate is a confident and experienced early childhood educator and leader who is organized, collaborative, approachable, and committed to the highest standards in early childhood education. This individual will combine strong leadership and communication skills with warmth, professionalism, and a positive, solutions-oriented approach. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee curriculum coordination and implementation across all classrooms.
- Ensure Ivybrook Academy's Montessori and Reggio Emilia-inspired educational philosophy is consistently reflected in classroom practices and student experiences.
- Maintain high standards for instructional quality, classroom environments, student engagement, health, and safety.
- Observe classrooms and provide educators with ongoing coaching, feedback, mentorship, and professional development.
- Build, develop, and support a high-quality team of early childhood educators.
- Establish clear expectations and accountability for educator performance and curriculum implementation.
- Foster a positive, collaborative culture focused on educational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Maintain strong, open communication with educators and families.
- Conduct and support parent conferences regarding children's development, progress, and educational experience.
- Partner with the Principal/Director of Administration on school-wide priorities, enrollment, family experience, and operational needs.
- Support marketing and enrollment initiatives and participate in school and community events as needed.
- Develop a thorough understanding of Ivybrook Academy franchise processes, procedures, curriculum standards, and operational guidelines.
- Support compliance with Texas child care licensing requirements and Ivybrook Academy policies and standards.
- Serve as a professional and enthusiastic ambassador for Ivybrook Academy within the school and Houston community.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must meet Texas Child Care Center Director qualifications and licensing requirements for a preschool/child care center director.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Educational background in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of early childhood education, curriculum, or instructional leadership experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring, developing, or supervising educators.
- Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate educational practices.
- Montessori and/or Reggio Emilia experience is highly valued.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively lead educators while building strong relationships with children and families.
- Strong judgment, professionalism, initiative, and problem-solving abilities.
- CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.

Work Location: In person – Houston, Texas
Pay: $48,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year
