Job Responsibilities
- Produce phenolic resin products to meet Plenco customer requirements
- Weighs and transfers dry and liquid chemicals.
- Maintains supply of chemicals, raw materials, and supplies for staging at kettles.
- Monitors time, temperature, vacuum controls, and other devices that indicate manufacturing control limits.
- Records batch details in the shop packet.
- Ensures resin is produced according to formula and instructions to maintain product quality.
- Discharges finished resin into pans or onto metal floor for cooling. Breaks up cooled resin on floor and loads into pans or drums. Weighs pans and trucks to cooling area as required.
- Pumps liquid resin to drums, totes, or storage tanks.
- Operates belt coolers, fluidizing and packing equipment, as assigned.
- Cleans kettles as directed by Supervision.
- Troubleshoots issues with equipment
- Maintain clean and safe work environment
- Participate in safety training and follow all safety procedures
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Experience:
- Manufacturing: 2 years (Preferred)
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Associate Degree in a science a plus for advancement)
- Strong math skills
- Strong mechanical proficiency
- Effective written and oral communication skills
Physical and Safety Characteristics:
- Lift and move 50 pounds regularly
- Work with hazardous chemicals
- Work in a hot environment
- Ability to enter confined spaces
- Stand, walk, reach above shoulders
- Wear respirator, breathing air hood, steel toed boots, chemical protective clothing and gloves, safety glasses and other PPE as required.
