GWSI, a leading supply chain, and logistics provider seeks an experienced Chassis/Trailer Mechanic to maintain our fleet of vehicles supporting our warehousing, transportation, and distribution operations.
Position Overview
Responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and trailers, chassis and genset units and related systems in our transportation fleet, warehouse equipment, and heavy-lift machinery used in our special projects logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Preventive Maintenance and repairs on trailers.
- Preventive maintenance and repair, DOT inspections on trailers and chassis.
- Perform minor adjustment and repairs on various types of trailers equipment and systems including, but not limited to the following: trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps and engines, liftgates, and brake chambers.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (“PM”), DOT Inspections and follow up repairs on trailers and equipment in a mobile/field environment.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and mechanical systems
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various positions
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE certifications
- Experience with warehouse equipment and heavy machinery
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
