Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Perform detailed diagnostics using schematics, OEM manuals, and electrical testing to identify issues with heavy equipment such as excavators, Dozers, and other heavy equipment on and off road.
- Conduct repairs and preventative maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, air brakes, HVAC systems, and electrical components.
- Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure equipment longevity and performance.
- Service a variety of equipment including forklifts, farm machinery, power-train components, tire service, alignment adjustments, and vehicle maintenance tasks.
- Operate heavy machinery safely during repairs or testing to verify proper function after service or repair procedures.
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
- Maintain detailed service records and logs of all repairs performed for compliance and future reference.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment repair in dealership or industrial settings.
- Familiarity with OEM parts catalogs and diagnostic tools for Caterpillar, John Deere, or similar brands.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, transmissions, air brake systems, HVAC systems, suspension components, and diesel engine repair.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and utilize diagnostic software effectively.
- Experience working with farm machinery or construction equipment is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
