Job Summary:
Wesleyan Academy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Math High School Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to educating high school students, fostering a positive learning environment, and supporting student growth and development. This role requires expertise in lesson planning, classroom management, and a strong understanding of educational practices.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with Wesleyan Academy’s curriculum standards.
- Deliver lessons effectively on various subjects, including Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus, ensuring student comprehension and engagement.
- Utilize effective classroom management strategies to maintain a conducive learning environment.
- Provide individualized support to students through tutoring sessions, extra help, and personalized feedback.
- Assess and evaluate student progress regularly, offering constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues on educational initiatives, interdisciplinary projects, and student development programs.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of student performance and attendance as required by the Academy’s policies.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, faculty meetings, and school events as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Valid teach certification or license in the relevant subject area.
- Proficient in classroom management techniques and effective teaching strategies.
- Strong public speaking and communication skills to engage and inspire students.
- Demonstrated experience in lesson planning, curriculum development, and assessment.
- Proficiency in teaching Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus and related mathematical concepts.
- Strong proofreading skills and ability to provide detailed feedback on student work.
- Understanding of educational administration practices and policies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday, with additional hours as required for meetings, tutoring, and school events.
