Authorized Construction Services (ACS) is a growing commercial facilities maintenance and construction services company serving leading retail, commercial, healthcare, and institutional clients throughout the Southeastern United States. Due to continued growth and expansion, we are seeking multiple Commercial Facilities Maintenance Handymen to join our team in the Charleston and Savannah markets.
Position Summary
The Commercial Facilities Maintenance Handyman is responsible for performing a variety of repair, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting tasks at commercial facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in general building maintenance and be comfortable performing work across multiple trades including carpentry, drywall, painting, doors, flooring, ceiling systems, basic plumbing, and minor electrical repairs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform commercial facility repair and maintenance services.
- Troubleshoot and repair doors, hardware, locks, hinges, and closures.
- Complete drywall repairs, patching, finishing, and painting.
- Install and repair baseboards, trim, wall protection, and millwork.
- Repair and replace ceiling tiles and grid components.
- Perform flooring repairs including tile, vinyl, laminate, and carpet transitions.
- Conduct basic plumbing repairs including faucets, toilets, flush valves, drains, and fixtures.
- Perform minor electrical repairs such as replacing switches, outlets, lighting fixtures, ballasts, and lamps.
- Install shelving, signage, accessories, and miscellaneous building components.
- Complete preventive maintenance inspections and identify repair needs.
- Respond to service calls and emergency maintenance requests.
- Document work completed using mobile applications and company software.
- Communicate professionally with customers, facility managers, and internal teams.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good working order.
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 1–10 years of commercial maintenance, handyman, construction, facilities maintenance, or related experience.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to read work orders, drawings, and basic plans.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to climb ladders, work overhead, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Must pass pre-employment screening and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting retail, grocery, healthcare, restaurant, or commercial facilities.
- Knowledge of carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, plumbing, electrical, ceiling systems, and doors/hardware.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
- Experience using mobile work order management systems.
- HVAC maintenance experience is a plus.

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
