Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Medication Aide to join our healthcare team for our 3-11p shift. In this vital role, you will administer medications, monitor residents’ health status, and provide personalized care to enhance their quality of life. Your expertise will support residents in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings, ensuring they receive safe, respectful, and effective medication management. Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications accurately following physician orders and state regulations
- Monitor residents’ vital signs, symptoms, and overall health status regularly
- Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Maintain detailed medical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems and electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in residents’ conditions, including emergencies requiring first aid or CPR
- Support residents with specialized needs such as Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, or memory care through tailored approaches
- Assist with tube feeding, catheter care, and other complex medical procedures as trained and authorized
- Follow all state healthcare regulations and facility policies related to medication administration and patient safety
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care plans
Experience
Candidates should have prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring hospice or acute care is highly valued. Proficiency in medical documentation, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology knowledge, and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is essential. Candidates must demonstrate strong caregiving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of senior care practices. Certification from the State Board of Nursing as a Registered Medication Aide is required. Additional experience in dementia or memory care, heavy lifting techniques for resident assistance, and knowledge of HIPAA regulations will be considered advantageous for success in this role.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
