Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.
**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations**
The fundamental reason this classification exists is to perform technician engineering work, inspecting the construction of new development or public works projects. The work responsibilities involve supervising one employee, reviewing construction site plans, and making on-site inspections of developers' sites and various other engineering structures; corresponding with various consultants and design engineers; assisting citizens in resolving their complaints against the city; coordinating with utility companies and State agencies; and supervising and inspecting the work of employees. The employee reports directly to the City Engineer.
High school diploma or a GED and at least five (5) years of engineering experience to include reviewing construction site plans and the inspection of construction sites.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
