Position Overview
The Estimator is responsible for acquiring and capturing all project details from measurements and timelines to labor and materials to develop a comprehensive project proposal. Both accuracy and speed are essential for success in this role when preparing and presenting the project scope. Communication and sharing the rationale and specifics behind the proposal providing education and guidance to the team to build knowledge, capabilities, and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor opportunities and scope of work in Salesforce to identify projects to complete
- Prepare estimates for assigned projects
- Use on-line resources, such as Google Earth, to analyze the overall project and plan for site visits to gather specific information/data
- Review pricing options to determine total costs of labor, materials, and equipment, comparing to historical data to ensure costs are appropriate
- Communicate and collaborate with internal team members and external vendors to align on details of project prior to presenting the proposal
- Identify opportunities where additional services can/should be offered and share with project stakeholders
- Follow established processes, including completing spreadsheets, scope of work, and virtual project take-offs

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- 3 years experience in the paint or construction industry
- commercial estimating for coatings, waterproofing, or restoration.
- Hands-on experience with complex data research activities
- Experience with web-based project management software
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with the capacity to interact effectively with internal team members and external customers
- Proficient with Microsoft suite, especially Excel
- Available for weekly travel with overnights (approximately 30 – 40 %)
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 (commensurate with experience)

Measures of Success
- Accurately account for all costs associated to complete the project within 5%
- Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Collaborate with internal team to achieve KPIs for estimate due date and time in estimating
- Identify efficiencies and improvements on completed work to determine best practices to apply on future projects
