In coordination with the Esports Director, the Esports Game Coach is responsible for managing daily operations of respective National Junior College Athletic Association Esports (NJCAAE) program including, but not limited to, strategy, tryout support, technical support, and team communications. Games may include Overwatch, Rocket League, and Valorant. Other games may be added based on student interest.
This position is paid a STIPEND for each semester ($500 per semester) per coach. Program features dedicated esports studio (14 Lenovo Legions), jerseys, and scholarships.

- Must dedicate five hours a week for practice, games, and leadership meetings during season
- Supports Esports director in recruiting, tryouts, selection of team captains, and field up to two teams of assigned game
- Must attend all in person games or practices hosted on campus. Some practices and games may be held remotely as scheduled
- Develops and implements a recruiting program that is consistent with institutional, regional and conference regulations
Sets up Twitch streams before each game
Supports other game coaches as needed
Assists in social media content generation
Keeps teams updated on all team and organization-related news on Discord
Enforces standards and rules of Wake Tech Esports, NJCAAE, and other conference affiliations as needed
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must be familiar with Discord
Knowledgeable of recruiting processes and have experience recruiting talent for designated for intercollegiate sport team
Familiar with conference and NJCAAE rules, policies and regulations
Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others
Ability to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently
Demonstrates good organizational skills
Ability to perform normal duties with minimal supervision
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Intermediate skills with MS Office products
Must have reliable transportation and scheduling flexibility for all weekly games
Clean social media presence as you now represent Wake Tech Esports
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Prior coaching experience or competitive exports team experience
Preferences:
Proven experience coaching esports teams or managing esports organizations at high standards
