We are in the growth phase for our N Zone Sports Junior program (ages 2+) and are excited to announce that we are now accepting applications to fill TWO of our Pre-K Sports Teacher roles! This is a great position for those working or interested in working in childcare, child development, early childhood education, or developmental psychology. No prior coaching experience is necessary!
This posting is for someone with daycare/preschool through 5th Grade development experience. We are looking to couple our sports core curriculum with those who know how to develop very young minds, all while providing fun and engaging sports fundamental experiences to instill a love for athletics at early ages.
Job Description
Our sports instructors lead the athletic, cognitive, and motor skill development of our enrolled children ages 2+, utilizing our robust, high energy sports programming.
Our sessions are filled with FUN, ENERGY, HIGH FIVES, LAUGHTER, LEARNING, and SKILL DEVELOPMENT.
Our programming is designed to teach young kids the basics of a variety of sports including (but not limited to) soccer, T-ball, flag football, tennis, basketball, volleyball, golf, etc. We utilize our proprietary sports curriculum as the core of our teaching, while simultaneously working on progressive development of children's motor and cognitive skills.
Your prior experience working with kids will be the key to ensuring children of various backgrounds and skill levels feel included, remain engaged, and have fun with each different sport!
Schedule
Each Junior session ranges from 30min to 1hr depending on the age of that school's enrolled group. Schools will either have multiple back-to-back sessions at the same location, or multiple schools will be scheduled at different time slots within the same day.
You will be be scheduled at the same schools each week which meet your schedule, to lead the athletic development of kids in various pre-schools or elementary schools around the area. You will be provided the necessary equipment and started with the curriculum you need to succeed while running these programs, which are always developing and progressing to keep things fresh for both the kids and our coaches.
Responsibilities for each session include:
- Pregame study of curriculum and planning for a successful session
- Traveling to the scheduled destination
- Setup for the day's programming
- High level communication with the staff of the preschool
- Energy fueled warm ups (Pep Rallies) designed to excite the kids
- High level of execution of curriculum, emphasizing growth while keeping it fun
- Cleanup of recreation area and repacking of sports gear
Experience
- Prior experience working with children is a MUST. A work history with children aged 2-10 is necessary for true consideration.
- Experience with sports is PREFERRED, but NOT necessary with a prior history working with children.
- LOVE for teaching kids and EXCITEMENT to see them grow/learn.
- LEADERSHIP skills to be the MAIN VOICE to lead children during the sports sessions, and organize/implement the curriculum.
- OUTGOING PERSONALITY with great verbal communication skills.
- TRANSPORTATION is needed as you will need to have access for travel to and from scheduled schools.
- Detail oriented and punctual.
- Background checks through NC DHHS are MANDATORY.
