Isaiah Luke's Appliance Repair is seeking an experienced HVAC Helper to support our technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and light commercial HVAC systems. This position is ideal for someone with at least one year of HVAC experience who is looking to continue developing their skills while working alongside a knowledgeable team.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, customer-focused, and able to assist with HVAC projects from start to finish.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist HVAC technicians with system installations, repairs, and maintenance services.
- Support troubleshooting and diagnosis of HVAC equipment issues.
- Prepare job sites, tools, materials, and equipment for daily assignments.
- Install ductwork, thermostats, condensers, air handlers, and related HVAC components under supervision.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks, including cleaning coils, changing filters, and inspecting equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used.
- Keep company vehicles, tools, and work areas clean and organized.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
- Communicate professionally with customers and team members.
- Assist with emergency service calls and after-hours work as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of HVAC experience required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Basic understanding of HVAC systems, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
- Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and outdoor environments.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently when needed.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- EPA 608 Certification.
- Experience with residential HVAC service and installation.
- Trade school education or HVAC coursework.
- Basic electrical and refrigeration knowledge.
