Hiring Range: $49,737.00-$60,486.00
Hours: Monday-Friday 6:30am-3:00pm
Position devoted to maintaining and repairing City property, to include facilities, equipment and infrastructure systems through the performance of semi-skilled and skilled labor and technical work. Incumbents perform a broad range of technical work, ranging from routine to specialized skilled labor, technical repairs of primarily plumbing, electrical, and HVAC equipment. Incumbents may be required to respond to emergencies and/or natural disasters or weather events. Decision-making includes how and when tasks are carried out within an operational process, limited by the selection of the process and establishment of deadlines and outcomes. Incumbent will be required to be on call several times each year.
An incumbent is responsible for performing and/or leading skilled maintenance operations for assigned facilities or sites; receiving and processing work orders and service requests; inspecting facility, equipment, and/or vehicle conditions; installing, operating, and/or maintaining devices, vehicles, and other equipment; preparing and maintaining reports and records; addressing safety issues; and performing related duties.
- Performs and/or assists with coordinating maintenance operations; facility and grounds inspections. Installs, operates, and/or repairs to generators, signs, network wiring, pumps, pipes, water lines, communication systems, and other devices and equipment at assigned facilities or sites; performs skilled plumbing, carpentry, concrete work, masonry, painting, and welding duties; and/or performs preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment, tools.

Inspects conditions of equipment, vehicles, signs, networks, cameras, devices, and other materials at assigned facilities or sites; sets up safe work zones and detour routes; directs traffic; and addresses safety issues to detect and troubleshoot maintenance-related issues; and ensures compliance with established safety and operational policies and practices.

Operates light to heavy equipment, to include backhoes, excavators, bucket trucks, forklift, and scissor lifts.

Prepares and maintains reports and records, performs data entry, receives and processes work orders and service requests, and updates work order systems and related databases, to document and facilitate maintenance operations, and ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures.

Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Position is critical to emergency operations and will report to work despite or because of an emergency or disaster event.
This position is subject to on-call, recall, and after-hours work and work during inclement weather.

Positions in this class typically require, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in indoor and/or outdoor environments.
Incumbents may be exposed to hazardous physical conditions, such as, mechanical parts, electrical currents, and vibrations; atmospheric conditions, such as fumes, odors, gases, and poor ventilation; hazardous materials, such as chemicals, blood, and other bodily fluids; extreme temperatures; inadequate lighting; work space-related movement restrictions; intense noise; and other environmental conditions, such as, challenging behaviors, imminent danger, and threatening environments; incumbents may also be expected to travel to external locations.
