Seeking an experienced HVACR Service Manager to lead a commercial service team. The ideal candidate has strong technical and leadership experience in commercial HVAC and refrigeration, EPA certification, and a proven record managing field service operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of 10–15 HVACR service technicians and service coordinators.
- Schedule, dispatch, and prioritize service work to meet customer SLAs and optimize technician utilization.
- Troubleshoot complex commercial HVAC and refrigeration issues; provide technical guidance and training to field staff.
- Ensure all work meets safety, quality, regulatory, and company standards (including EPA refrigerant handling requirements).
- Respond to escalated customer issues and provide on-call support; be available to the team 24/7 for critical events.
- Monitor performance metrics (response time, first-time fix rate, revenue, job costing) and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage inventory control, parts procurement, and company vehicle usage.
- Collaborate with sales, dispatch, and operations to grow service revenue and maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Prepare reports, forecasts, and maintain accurate service documentation and billing records.
Required Qualifications:
- 5–10 years (minimum) experience in commercial HVAC and refrigeration service operations.
- EPA Section 608 certification (required).
- Proven experience leading and mentoring field service technicians (10–15 techs).
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial HVACR systems (packaged units, chillers, rooftop units, walk-in coolers/freezers, controls).
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and customer-service skills.
- Ability to be on-call and respond to emergencies outside regular business hours.
- Valid driver’s license; clean driving record.
Preferred:
- HVACR certifications or trade school diploma.
- Experience with service management software and inventory systems.
- Supervisory or management training.
