We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Construction Superintendent to lead and oversee commercial construction projects from start to finish. This role is vital in ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive construction site experience, and proficiency with industry-standard management and scheduling software. As a Construction Superintendent, you will coordinate teams, manage subcontractors, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and project specifications.
Duties
- Lead daily on-site operations, supervising construction activities to ensure adherence to project plans, schedules, and safety protocols.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate smooth workflow and communication across all phases of construction.
- Oversee quality control processes by inspecting work sites regularly, ensuring compliance with blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Enforce OSHA safety standards by conducting regular safety meetings, inspections, and training sessions for all personnel on site.
- Utilize construction management software such as ProCore and Bluebeam for documentation, reporting, and collaboration purposes.
- Read blueprints and schematics accurately; interpret technical drawings to guide construction activities effectively.
- Supervise subcontractors’ work performance; ensure timely completion of tasks while maintaining safety standards.
- Conduct material takeoffs using HeavyBid or similar estimating tools; assist in procurement decisions based on project needs.
- Perform routine inspections with tools like ohmmeters for electrical systems; ensure all work meets quality specifications.
- Maintain comprehensive records of daily activities, safety incidents, change orders, and progress reports for project documentation.
Skills
- Extensive experience in construction site supervision with proven leadership in managing teams and subcontractors.
- Strong knowledge of construction management software such as ProCore and Bluebeam for document control and collaboration.
- Familiarity with heavy civil projects including pipelines or infrastructure projects is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations coupled with the ability to enforce safety protocols effectively on-site.
- Excellent management skills with a focus on supervising diverse teams while fostering a safe work environment.
