In MedSurg 8 Quarterback at Main Campus Quarterback Tower
Work schedule will be Full-time on the Night Shift, 3 12-hour shifts, nightshift, every third weekend.
Summary:
Responsible for the assessment, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of patient care on the assigned shift. Supervises and evaluates work performance in accordance with established criteria-based standards of performance. Responsible for the coordination of clinical operations.
Other information:
Education
- Requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in nursing, which must be achieved within three years of starting the role.
- An Associate's degree RN currently in the role may be grandfathered in.
Experience
Bachelors in nursing or related field with 2 years or more of clinical nursing experience preferred including 1 year of recent pediatric/psych/OR nursing experience preferred.
Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
- Current RN License in the State of Alabama.
- Current BLS certification.
Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
- Basic Life Support
- Registered Nurse AL Single State or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
- Registered Nurse AL NLC Multi State
- Registered Nurse Non-AL NLC Multi State
Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
- Bachelor of Science Nursing in Nursing
Experience with Equivalent Qualifications:
Nonessential:
- 2 Years job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Nursing Acute

The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Unit 24 beds and is located in the Quarterback Tower of the Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children in Birmingham, Alabama. This unique acute care department boasts a team of professionals dedicated to improving the lives of these incredible children who may be struggling with both health and developmental related issues. Children’s of Alabama's pediatric Hematology / Oncology Division is recognized as a Center of Excellence in the delivery of progressive therapies to our children struggling with their battle against cancer.
