Position Description:
The Supervised Visitation Coordinator will provide direct assistance and education to families and children referred for supervised visitation services. Services may be provided with a home-based family preservation program that utilizes a strengths-based solution-focused approach. This may include scheduling, transportation, face-to-face supervision, fully supervised or semi-supervised visits at established visitation sites, parent training, and education before and after visits.
Responsibilities and Related Tasks:
- Facilitate, foster, and carry out the work and goals of Strive MN and the Supervised Visitation Program (SVP).
- Schedule and conduct intake/orientation interviews with new clients and inform them of policies, expectations, and consequences of inappropriate behavior, as needed.
- Assist in scheduling supervised visits and safe exchange.
- Supervise family visits/exchanges in the community or in the client’s home, following SVP policies.
- Identify client needs and refer to appropriate community resources as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information.
- Ability to express authority and clearly communicate expectations.
- Ability to guide and coach parents with parenting skills.
- Crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
- Understand child development needs and issues.
- Additional responsibilities as requested by supervisor.
- Provide transportation for child(ren) as needed.
Requirements:
- The minimum education requirement is a Master's in Social Work or related field.
- Licensed Mental Health Practitioner
- Work experience in social work, psychology, sociology, or a directly related area under the direct supervision of a person(s).
- Able to pass the Department of Human Services Background Study.
- Must be Age 21+.
- Must have a reliable vehicle with a valid Driver’s License.
- Must be comfortable driving in the metro areas.
- Maintain valid car insurance.
- Must be able to work during the evenings and weekends.
Job Type: Part-time
Schedule: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM, May include weekends
Pay: $25-$28 per hour
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
