Construction Coordinator (Hybrid)
Location: Various project sites throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Westchester County, NY
EMA Project Management is seeking an organized, dependable, and motivated Construction Coordinator to support our team on commercial construction projects throughout New York City and Westchester County.
This is a hybrid contract position consisting of both on-site fieldwork and remote administrative/project coordination. Work hours will vary based on project requirements.
This opportunity is ideal for recent college graduates, construction management students, or individuals looking to build a career in commercial construction. You’ll work alongside experienced project managers and gain valuable hands-on experience managing active construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
Responsibilities
· Assist Project Managers with daily construction activities.
· Perform site walks and document project progress.
· Prepare field reports, meeting notes, and project documentation.
· Maintain project logs, schedules, and tracking reports.
· Coordinate material deliveries and monitor onsite inventory.
· Assist with subcontractor coordination and scheduling.
· Monitor site safety and report unsafe conditions.
· Identify and communicate project issues to project leadership.
· Attend project meetings and distribute meeting minutes.
· Utilize Microsoft Office and web-based project management platforms to maintain project records.
· Assist with project closeout documentation, punch lists, and turnover packages.
Qualifications
· Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent construction experience.
· Ability to read and comprehend construction drawings and specifications.
· Internship or prior construction/project management experience is preferred but not required.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and project scheduling software (Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar) is a plus.
· Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently in a fast-paced construction environment.
· Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
· Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to project sites throughout NYC and Westchester.
Compensation
Hourly compensation is $30–$35 per hour, commensurate with experience.
