Make your day softer with our soft ice cream and taiyaki! We're located in the same space as Cluck & Crunch in Kahului, Maui, bringing sweet treats to complement the best fried chicken in Hawaii.
We specialize in:
- Soft Serve Ice Cream Swirl - Our signature creamy, irresistible decadence
- Taiyaki Ice Cream Cones - Freshly made fish-shaped waffle cones filled with your choice of ice cream and toppings
- Taiyaki Desserts - Fish-shaped waffles filled with custard, Nutella, ube paste, red bean paste, and more
We offer flavors including milk, chocolate, matcha, ube and seasonal varieties. You can add toppings like sprinkles, cookie crumbs, coconut flakes, and Oreo to make each treat extra special!

Position: Ice Cream Server / Dessert Specialist
Type: Full-time / Part-time Available
Location: Maui Market Place, 270 Dairy Rd, Ste 164, Kahului, HI 96732 (In Person)
Pay: $18.00–$21.00 per hour (based on experience)
What You'll Do
As an Ice Cream Server at Softer, you'll be responsible for:
- Serving soft serve ice cream and preparing custom scoops/swirls
- Making fresh taiyaki cones from scratch (fish-shaped waffle preparation)
- Creating taiyaki desserts with various fillings (custard, Nutella, ube paste, red bean paste)
- Taking customer orders and providing friendly, knowledgeable service
- Recommending flavors, toppings, and combinations to customers
- Maintaining ice cream freezer displays and ingredient freshness
- Following strict food safety and sanitation protocols
- Keeping service counter clean, organized, and fully stocked
- Processing cash and card transactions accurately
- Managing dessert inventory and supplies
- Working efficiently during busy periods while maintaining quality
What We're Looking For
Required:
- At least 16 years of age (18+ preferred)
- Valid Food Handler's Certification (or willing to obtain within 30 days)
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable attendance
- Friendly, upbeat personality with strong customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle light lifting (up to 25 lbs)
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Reliable transportation to work
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Preferred:
- 1+ years of customer service or food service experience
- Experience with ice cream, frozen desserts, or sweet treats
- Knowledge of food safety standards
- Previous quick-service restaurant (QSR) experience
- Familiarity with taiyaki or Asian-inspired desserts
- Comfortable working with cash registers and POS systems
- Creativity in suggesting flavor combinations and upselling
Hours & Schedule
Our Store Hours:
- Monday - Sunday: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
