Job Description Summary
An instructor in the Human Services Department will demonstrate the versatility and expertise necessary to provide instruction and practice in a variety of human services related courses.
Duties
1. Instruct Human Services Technology courses;
2. Develop course syllabus, teaching materials, activities, and handouts for each section/course taught;
3. Prepare and deliver lectures;
4. Research and maintain currency in the related areas of expertise through professional development activities;
5. Utilize technology and innovative techniques for instruction;
6. Abide by all policies, standards, goals and objectives of the College, the Academic Success and Public Service Division, and the Department;
7. Participate in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities to improve instructional quality;
8. Maintain accurate student records;
9. Ensure that all college reports and requested information are submitted promptly and accurately to the Department Chair;
10. Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair or Dean.
Minimum Requirements
1. Master’s degree in Human Services or a closely related field (Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work).
Preferred Qualifications
1. Master’s Degree in Human Services;
2. Three or more years of work experience in the Human Services field;
3. Minimum of 3 years experience with distance learning and/or instructional delivery systems;
4. Some college teaching experience;
5. Teaching experience in a Human Services curriculum program;
6. Experience designing, teaching, and managing courses hybrid and online formats;
7. Experience using college information databases, such as Moodle and Self Service.
