Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Plant Accounting Manager to join our growing poultry processing operation. This position works directly with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and plays a key role in the daily financial operations of the plant. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This position is responsible for supporting payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, reconciliations, and other accounting functions while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Essential Responsibilities
· Work directly with the CFO on daily accounting and financial operations.
· Process and assist with weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
· Manage Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and statement reconciliations.
· Manage Accounts Receivable, customer invoicing, collections, and cash application.
· Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.
· Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.
· Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
· Prepare financial reports and operational reports for management.
· Analyze production costs, labor, inventory, and manufacturing variances.
· Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
· Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
· Support annual tax preparation.
· Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
· Assist with inventory reconciliation and cycle count reporting.
· Maintain confidential employee and financial information.
· Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
· Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned by the CFO.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
· Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
· Manufacturing, food processing, or poultry industry experience is strongly preferred.
· Payroll processing experience preferred.
· Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
· Experience with ERP or accounting software (QuickBooks experience is a plus).
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
· Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
· Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
· Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· High level of integrity and confidentiality.
