We are seeking a professional and hospitality-driven Server to join our team. In this role, you will deliver exceptional dining experiences by providing authentic hospitality and traditional Japanese service. You will guide guests through our menu—including sushi, sashimi, and sake—ensuring accuracy, cleanliness, and a welcoming atmosphere. Key Responsibilities
- Guest Relations: Greet, welcome, and seat guests warmly with traditional hospitality.
- Menu Knowledge: Explain menu items, daily specials, ingredients, and allergy concerns.
- Order & Cash Handling: Take accurate orders and process payments using the POS system.
- Food & Beverage Service: Serve dishes and drinks promptly following Japanese dining etiquette.
- Table Maintenance: Clear plates, refill drinks, and pre-bus tables throughout the meal.
- Sake & Beverage Pairing: Recommend appropriate sake, Japanese beer, or spirits to complement meals.
- Sidework & Cleaning: Perform opening/closing duties and maintain front-of-house cleanliness.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a restaurant preferred (Japanese cuisine experience is a plus).
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attributes: Positive attitude, strong teamwork, and ability to multitask under pressure.
- Requirements: Must hold required local food handler and alcohol server certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in Japanese fine dining or Izakaya concepts.
- Knowledge of sake varieties, flavor profiles, and sake pouring etiquette.
- Multilingual skills (especially English and Japanese).
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
