Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cath Lab Technologist to join our dynamic cardiovascular team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of interventional radiology procedures, cardiac catheterization, and telemetry monitoring. As a vital member of the catheterization laboratory, you will perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures with precision, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes. Your expertise in physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology will support accurate assessments and interventions within a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Duties
- Prepare the cath lab for scheduled procedures by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile, functional, and ready for use.
- Assist physicians during interventional radiology and cardiology procedures, including cardiac catheterization, angiography, and other minimally invasive interventions.
- Monitor vital signs continuously during procedures, utilizing telemetry systems to track patient responses in real-time.
- Maintain strict aseptic technique throughout all procedures to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Operate imaging equipment such as sonography devices to assist in diagnostic evaluation and procedural guidance.
- Document procedure details accurately in patient records, including physiological data, contrast usage, and procedural notes.
- Support emergency interventions by applying knowledge of physiology and anatomy during trauma or critical situations in a Level I Trauma Center setting.
- Uphold compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control policies at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a cath lab environment within a Level I Trauma Center or similar high-acuity setting.
- Strong background in interventional radiology, cardiac catheterization, and interventional cardiology procedures.
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and vital signs assessment during complex cardiovascular interventions.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques relevant to cardiovascular care.
- Hands-on experience with sonography equipment used for vascular imaging or diagnostic purposes.
- Prior exposure to emergency medicine protocols and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining sterile fields during invasive procedures.
