Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated and disciplined Correctional Officers at Levels I and II to maintain safety, security, and order within correctional facilities. The role involves supervising inmates, enforcing rules, and ensuring the well-being of staff and detainees. Prior law enforcement or security experience is highly valued, along with certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and familiarity with CCTV systems. Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activity through CCTV surveillance to detect unusual or suspicious behavior.
- Enforce facility rules and regulations to maintain order and discipline among inmates.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, including medical incidents, conflicts, or security breaches.
- Conduct regular patrols of the facility to ensure safety and security standards are upheld.
- Write detailed reports documenting incidents, disciplinary actions, and daily activities.
- Assist with inmate intake, release procedures, and transfers as required.
- Provide first aid or CPR in emergency situations until medical personnel arrive.
- Manage conflicts through effective de-escalation techniques and conflict management skills.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary for investigations or incident reports.
Requirements
- Prior experience in law enforcement, security, military service, or related fields is preferred.
- Knowledge of CCTV systems, report writing procedures, and conflict management strategies.
- Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are highly desirable; willingness to obtain these certifications is expected.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to write clear and comprehensive reports.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally while maintaining authority.
- Demonstrated ability to enforce rules fairly and consistently while ensuring safety for all individuals involved.
- Must meet all employment requirements including background checks and adherence to facility policies. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the safety and security of correctional facilities while providing opportunities for professional growth within the criminal justice field.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
