Job Summary
The Accounts payable/receivable Clerk plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization by managing incoming payments and ensuring accurate record-keeping. This position involves processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and collaborating with various departments to resolve discrepancies. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Duties
- Process and record incoming payments accurately and timely.
- Prepare and send invoices to clients, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.
- Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Maintain the general ledger by recording journal entries related to accounts receivable.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analysis as needed.
- Collaborate with the accounts payable team to resolve any payment discrepancies.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft for data entry and reporting.
- Manage customer inquiries regarding billing and payment issues effectively.
- Support payroll management processes as needed, including data entry into HRIS systems like ADP or Kronos.
- Ensure compliance with SOX regulations in all accounting practices.
Skills
- Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Workday, Paychex) and financial software applications.
- Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping and general ledger accounting principles.
- Familiarity with accounts receivable processes and account reconciliation techniques.
- Knowledge of financial concepts including debits & credits, payroll management, and benefits administration.
- Experience with public accounting or governmental accounting is a plus.
- Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail for accurate data entry (10 key typing proficiency).
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and internal departments. This role is essential for maintaining our organization's financial integrity and requires a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment while adhering to established guidelines and standards.
Pay: $66,000.00 - $84,000.00 per year
